I am a mother of 3 children and have 34 years of nursing experience. For the past 14 years I have specialized in the field of Child Health. During this time I was employed as a Child Health Nurse in a government funded Child Health Residential Center, where families are referred by their physicians or other health professionals for assistance with complex baby/child care problems. I have many years of experience as a consultant, providing parenting advice face to face and via the telephone. I am also the founder of BabycareAdvice.com, a www based parenting advisory service.

I believe there is no one "right way" in which to parent. What works well for some families may not work for others. Parents should be supported to find what works best for their child and their family.
When faced with difficult well baby/child care problems I believe in a using a non-medical approach. To change a child's behavior involves making changes to the way care is provided. |
