WHY IS MY BABY CRYING?

There's nothing more distressing than the sound of your baby crying. You know she's crying to communicate a need or want for something BUT... trying to work out what it is she wants is not always a simple matter.

As you already know, there are many reasons why a healthy baby will cry. However, the cues (crying and behavior) a baby provides to indicate hunger, tiredness, pain etc are not as easy to recognize as you might expect, and can easily be misinterpreted. STOP THE TEARS!

Fortunately, crying is rarely due to a medical problem. However, when nothing you do calms your crying baby, it's natural for you to worry that something's wrong and it's important to alleviate your concern by having your baby seen by a doctor to make sure she's well.

If your doctor has been unable to find a reason, that's actually good news, as it means there is nothing seriously wrong. All you now have to do is find the reason and that's where we can help. We have often found that all it takes is a little understanding to confidently read your baby's cues and you can then change a big problem into a manageable one.
