Hungry baby

Why is my baby so hungry?

Is your healthy thriving infant difficult to satisfy?
Does he still want to feed every hour or two despite good weight gains?
Amazingly, the babies who are most difficult to satisfy are often those who are regularly gaining good amounts of weight.

You may have even been told the reason for your baby's behavior is "he's a big boy, he might need to start on solids sooner" OR "maybe his formula is not strong enough". Sadly, it's often suggested to a breast feeding mother "your milk may not be strong enough". These comments are all incorrect!

Which comes first?

More often a frequent feeding pattern results in a big baby RATHER THAN a big baby needing more frequent feeding. A larger baby does need a little more milk than a smaller baby BUT... never stronger milk. He doesn't need more frequent feeding, nor does he need to start solids earlier.

A baby's larger size is not the reason he's more difficult to satisfy.

Things are not always as they seem...

We have found the cause of the problem for a thriving yet constantly "hungry" baby DOES NOT lie with the milk (breast or formula). Whether breast fed or formula fed, your baby's insatiability could be due to one or a combination of causes. The reasons may even surprise you.

To view some of the many reasons why some babies appear to be hungrier than others, take a peek at our hungry baby article.

FINALLY ADVICE THAT MAKES SENSE!

At BabycareAdvice.com we can advise on feeding (breast, formula or solids) to ensure a healthy balance that will meet your baby's nutritional needs. After a thorough assessment to discover the reason for your baby's hunger, we can explain ways in which you can improve his feeding and sleep patterns.

An added bonus...

Following our consultation we will email you an individualized plan outlining the key points of our discussion. We will also provide follow-up support by email for the week following a consultation to make sure the problem improves. Together we can turn your "hungry" baby into a "contented" baby.
