Facts you should know...

FACT 1: Although, a common condition in adults and children over the age of 4 years, lactose intolerance is rarely seen in infants, except after a bout of gastroenteritis, at which time it's only a temporary condition.

FACT 2: Standard tests for lactose intolerance are not reliable. Approximately 2/3 of healthy thriving breast-fed babies will show positive test results. False positive results will also occur if there is any trace of a gastro-intestinal infection.

FACT 3: Abdominal gas and watery poop are common problems for healthy thriving breast fed infants and is NOT due to lactose intolerance. Breast feeding can be continued as these symptoms can be reduced with simple breast feeding management.
